Power Quickness Chronomancer

Power Quickness Chronomancer is a boon support build capable of providing permanent Quickness to the party while also providing solid power DPS. This build can provide excellent CC on demand while having access to powerful core mesmer utility such as Portal Entre, Feedback and Temporal Curtain.

Optimized variant of this build will offer the highest possible DPS with the downside of having to flank the target due to Rune of the Thief.

Universal variant sacrifices a small amount of DPS by swapping to Rune of the Eagle eliminating the need to flank the target and makes it easy to swap your gear if you’d like to use the following build:

Build fundamentals

Seize the Moment allows you to provide Quickness by using your shatter skills. This means your rotation generates three clones using phantasm skills and Mirror Blade, then shatters them using skills Split Second and Rewinder.

In addition to your shatter skills, Well of Action and Time Warp help maintain your Quickness uptime. These skills are both wells, and affect players standing in their areas of effect. This means that they should be saved for when your squad is stacked and stationary. Time Warp is often used at the start of phases before you’ve had a chance to generate clones. For example, dropping Time Warp at the start of a boss encounter provides your squadmates with Quickness for their openers instead of forcing them to wait for you to generate clones to shatter.

In addition to building clones, Phantasmal Swordsman and Phantasmal Berserker are two of your heavier DPS skills. These skills’ cooldowns can be reset by using your heal skill, Signet of the Ether. This allows you to use your phantasm skills twice, increasing your damage and clone generation.

Continuum Split allows you to duplicate your skills. This allows you to burst very hard or double cast a utility skill, but should be saved for moments where you can take advantage of the additional burst. Typically use Continuum Split only if you have at least 10 seconds for your phantasms to deal damage. This means it is always used in your opener, but should be saved if a boss is about to phase.

Your DPS burst comprises of activating Continuum Split, casting both Phantasmal Swordsman and Phantasmal Berserker, resetting them with Signet of the Ether, and casting them again. Use each of your shatter skills and wells for that extra bit of Quickness, as well as Blurred Frenzy for DPS, then exit Continuum Split.

Tips

• Phantasmal Disenchanter, Mind Spike (the last Sword auto-attack), and Phantasmal Berserker boon strip.
• Don’t cancel your auto-attack chains, as Mind Spike is the largest hitter.
• Blurred Frenzy and Signet of the Ether will cancel any skills you’re currently casting – don’t use these too early!
• Flank to benefit from Superior Rune of the Thief
• Mantra of Pain should be used when you have 10 stacks of Fencer's Finesse.

• Swapping your off-hand Sword for Focus allows you to use Temporal Curtain for pulls. With this swap use Signet of the Ether to reset your Greatsword phantasm skill Phantasmal Berserker instead of your Focus phantasm skill.

Utility Skills

You can replace Mantra of Pain with:

• Feedback for reflects.
• Mantra of Concentration for party-wide Stability.
• Portal Entre for portals.
• Well of Precognition for Aegis.

Additionally, you can replace Time Warp with Signet of Humility for massive CC.
