Tower Mesmer build was created specifically for the Wing 3 Escort raid encounter and has no use outside of it.

Escort

Select difficulty

An event where players escort NPC Glenna, capturing towers and avoiding one-shot mechanics. This encounter only requires Forsaken Thicket Waters and Ley-Line Gliding, but benefits from Mesmer Portal and group stability and immobs.

Build Fundamentals

Your main (and only role) will be capping towers during the escort. You will find a detailed description of your role in the boss encounter guide, with highlights here.

You can either solo cap the towers, or port the group up for a quick cap, but we encourage you at least try to solo! This build is extremely forgiving by being extremely tanky and having stability on each shatter skill, so if you fail to solo you will still be able to portal your group.

When you will get more and more comfortable with your role, you can start phasing out Minstrel’s gear for Berserker’s and Assassin’s items to be of more use at the end boss of the encounter. Additionally you can swap Scepter for Sword if you prefer.

Notes

When solo capping, Continuum Split can be used to double Illusionary Wave for extra leeway.

Illusionary Wave (Greatsword 5) only pushes 5 targets, so enemy Necromancer minions can make the skill miss one of the enemies. Additionally, the tower capture circle can be confusing – tower Mesmers should always have Portal Entre on their bar in case this goes wrong.
