Condition Herald

Condition Herald is a tanky teamfight DPS that focuses on burst Burning and Torment damage. This build is sturdy, so don’t be afraid to follow the teamfight target and pressuring it as hard as you can as long as you’re not focused by damage dealers. Combo with Embrace the Darkness when sticking to targets to deal significant condition damage and utilize Legend Swapping trait procs to help your bursts. The damage this build does can be boiled down to a rotation more easily than most PvP builds. You want to try and execute this rotation or something close to it on the teamfight target. this is usually most effective against a support. There’s seveal things to understand about the rotation and how this build deals its damage: Legendary Demon Stance is where you can deal significantly more damage, but are…

Condition Reaper

Condition Reaper is a powerful DPS team fighter that has a lot of hard and soft crowd control and condition damage. The Blood Magic variant provides better means to survive, even without a support, giving up slight burst. It is especially recommended for solo play. Condition Reaper is a powerful DPS team fighter that relies on Chilled for both control and damage. This build combines Harbinger’s high damage with Core Necro’s survivability and control. While Condition Reaper is susceptible to CC, it shines when paired with a support. Apply as much Chilled as possible while kiting away. This will inhibit the enemies attack patterns after you dodge their initial burst. Chill also applies a lot of pressure on this build, because it will apply Bleeding due to Deathly Chill. Use Soul Spiral inside the field created by Executioner's Scythe. This…

Fresh Air Catalyst

Fresh Air Catalyst is a highly mobile dps roamer that provides excellent boon support to the team.  Catalyst is hard carried by Fresh Air in the Air traitline. Fresh Air not only buffs damage but allows you to constantly swap into Air Attunement to refresh the buff, generate near-permanent Superspeed, and drop your Deploy Jade Sphere off cooldown. Tip: Air Attunement lacks native combo finishers, but you can swap to Air Attunement during the cast of skills like Phoenix to get a Shocking Aura from a combo field. Your ‘Hard CC’ comes from Gale and Comet . Gale is especially good in mirrors against other Catalysts since it is unblockable and ignores Fortified Earth and Final Shielding . Keep in mind that all your CC skills can be reset to extend lockdowns. This is especially useful with double Gale to secure kills in…

Power Chrono

Power Chronomancer  is one of the highest damage spec. Power Chrono is unique in its ability to ‘oneshot’ multiple opponents in a row with Continuum Split. Power Chronomancer is played as a high-damage Roamer, meaning your job is to +1 a duelist or to get quick kills in teamfights. Avoid taking 1v1s or staying in extended fights, once Chrono starts running out of cooldowns its lack of defensive utility and condition cleanse makes it easy to focus. Always have a priority target in mind before you engage in any fight, and be proactive about leaving before you feed and die. Chronomancer changes the standard mesmer shatters and gains new ones. The relevant changes for us are Split Second and Continuum Split . Split Second  splits the damage from Mind Wrack into 2 parts; Continuum Split lets you set up a…

Sidenode Virtuoso

Virtuoso is a sidenoder heavily based on projectiles. As mesmer it has access to a potentially game-breaking elite: Signet of Humility. Virtuoso doesn’t have clones, instead, it stores up to 5 blades. Every core Mesmer skill that would usually give you a clone now gives you a blade, you also have access to Psychic Riposte, which is your main way to build up blades. Blocking not only stocks up 3 blades but gives you Quickness via Duelist's Reversal, which creates very interesting counterplays. Your main sources of damage are your Shatters (Bladesongs) Bladesong Sorrow and Bladesong Harmony, which you’ll want to use with a high amount of Blades to deal as much damage as possible. When you can’t use Bladesongs, cycle through your weapon skills. On Scepter, you should spam Illusionary Counter, if you won’t proc the block effect of…

Condition Specter

Condition Specter is a safe roaming build that has the luxury of also being able to duel a lot of classes, so you could call it a very mobile sidenoder. Specter is slow and less stealthy compared to other thief variants. Infiltrator's Strike will help you move from fight to fight, but it won’t help if you try to go for a decap. Most of your mobility comes from wells and Shadowstep, which is also your only stunbreak, therefore try to use it with care. This build is really straightforward when it comes to dealing damage. Most of it comes from Poisoned and Torment. Measured Shot->Endless Night is your hardest-hitting ability. It has high base power damage and really good condition application, you want to spam it to get the most damage done possible. Siphon also brings good pressure, applying…

Power Willbender

Power Willbender is a roamer that excels at skirmishing, outnumbering, sticking to and bursting targets given its high mobility and damage and has excellent tools to stay alive. Our main role is to generate as many kills as possible in teamfights and outnumbers. With willbender our virtues are now all movement skills, making us very mobile. Use your virtues procs and high damage to run down enemies that cannot afford to trade blows with you. Use Flowing Resolve to evade attacks. Use Judge's Intervention right next to a moment you’re going to unleash a lot of damage like Whirling Wrath, Whirling Light or Executioner's Calling‘s second attack. Use Whirling Wrath inside the hitbox of an enemy to deal extra damage. Use multi hit skills like Whirling Wrath, Whirling Light or Executioner's Calling and symbols to proc Flowing Resolve and Crashing…

Mercy Deadeye

Power Deadeye is a strong roamer that takes advantage of Shadow Gust and Be Quick or Be Killed to lock down and eliminate targets quickly. Deadeye benefits from the baked in mobility of any thief spec, however is is vulnerable to focus and gets countered by projectile block from builds like Tempest or Catalyst. As a roamer, Deadeye focuses on moving around the map and quickly getting kills. In order to do this, you need to lock down and eliminate your target as quickly as possible. Deadeye relies on a mechanic called malice to do damage. Whenever you mark a target, hitting them with an ability will generate stacks of malice. At maximum malice, your stolen skills will give you Stealth and Malicious Death's Judgment will do 75% more damage. Try to build malice as quickly as possible after marking…

Power Vindicator

Vindicator’s staff variant is the go-to Revenant damage build. It’s a conventional roamer and can easily outnumber fights and also enjoys being in team-fights. It uses a single damage weapon set with full DPS trait lines for maximum burst but less follow-up. Your goal is to generate as many kills as possible. You want to be where the action is and burst vulnerable targets with your team. With Vindicator, your dodge now deals significant damage and gives you a damage increase via Forerunner of Death. You also get access to excellent sustain skills in Legendary Alliance Stance, such as Tree Song Selfless Spirit and Selfish Spirit. This means you have quite a lot of damage uptime and resustainability. Use it to stick to keep the pressure up on key targets. Your mobile nature allows you to get to a side…

Support Guardian

Build offers good sustain for allies and self with lots of Stability application and good revive capabilities, while having decent mobility. Your main role as a support is to heal, sustain and revive your allies, either in team fights or when a sidenoder is under pressure. During fights, avoid standing in the center of the fight or on the node, as you are rather squishy. Try to stand at ~600 range and heal from a safe distance. Both your weapon sets offer a good amount of healing, Holy Strike and Empower in staff, and Shield of Absorption > Shield of Absorption on the shield can be used to heal, but all of those can have more situational uses (Holy Strike is blast finisher, Empower can be used to stack Might while helping maintain pressure, and finally Shield of Absorption can…

Power Herald

Power Herald is a mobile teamfight DPS with high burst damage. it’s especially useful when there’s enemy classes that can’t survive its combo, forcing defensive play and kiting. The mobile nature of this build makes it double as a roamer. Your main weakness is being generally squishy, especially to condition damage. Your role is a damage dealer in a team fight. You want to be where the action is and burst vulnerable targets with your team. You’re squishy, melee, with high burst. Once you used your burst, make sure you get out of the fight to recover. Then repeat. Your mobile nature allows you to get to a side node to outnumber a 1v1 if needed. Refer to the “Rotation” segment for an opener. Save Infuse Light for the right moment to extract maximum value. Don’t stay long in the…

Side Mirage

Side Mirage is a duelist build based on Confusion to burst your opponents. Side mirage is a duelist build. It has decent impact in a teamfight however it has much more value on a sidenode. Most of your damage comes from Confusion under the form of a burst, as well as your staff clones casting Winds of Chaos. Below is the perfect burst, a few abilities can be skipped but Cry of Frustration is mandatory: Phantasmal Warlock precast Chaos Vortex (use the following skills at the end of the cast) Jaunt Mirror Images Cry of Frustration Chaos Armor Note that you can also use Magic Bullet to ensure you hit all of your burst. Between bursts you can use every other cooldown to survive and slightly pressure the enemy. Illusionary Counter should be used as soon as you can as…

Interrupt Mirage

Interrupt Mirage offers high condition damage and good disruption through interrupts, despite being a roamer, it can also sidenode if needed. What makes this build unique is Power Block, which puts enemy skills on a higher cooldown and apply Weakness when you interrupt a skill. Knowing important skills to interrupt like a heal or elite can easily secure a kill and win a teamfight, so knowing the animations of important abilities like Lich Form or Glyph of Renewal is vital. Mirage gains access to Ambush Skills, transforming your auto-attack into a different skill for a short while after each dodge. On this build, you will have access to Mirage Thrust on Sword, which will be used primarily for mobility, and Imaginary Axes while on Axe, used mainly for damage. Use your Dodge carefully. Dodging for damage on Axe is a bad…

Power Daredevil

The thief has the most access to Stealth out of any of the classes. This paired with strong burst damage and access to low cooldown mobility skills makes it an amazing roamer. Use your mobility from Infiltrator's Arrow and Shadowstep to rotate quickly around the map and provide value for your team. You can join a 1v1 fight and assist your sidenoder in defeating the enemy’s one, which is known as the “plus one” or quickly “decap” an enemy node (turn it neutral). Keep in mind that going for a full cap is usually pointless as you will struggle to defend the node vs an enemy sidenoder. Your main damage comes from Backstab. You gain access to this when you auto-attack someone while in Stealth. That’s why you should to always stealth yourself when joining the fight. You can blast…

Trapper Dragonhunter

Mobile, very bursty build. This build thrives on exploiting mistakes from your opponent and bursting them down very quickly. Our goal is to mostly be present in teamfights and focus squishy targets. This build enjoys really high range damage from longbow and traps. Coupled with tons of damage increases, try to tether them with Spear of Justice and kill them quickly. we have sufficient mobility and plenty of damage to roam a bit and outnumber duels, ending them quickly. Knock enemies in and out of Test of Faith. Try to maintain Resolution to keep up your high critical chance from Righteous Instincts Use Aegis from your many sources to keep off the pressure and save Shield of Courage for when you really need it. Do not use Renewed Focus before you used Shield of Courage, unless you have no choice.…
