Introduction

This Celestial Booster Holosmith is a great beginner-friendly offensive setup made for open-world. The equipment above is designed to be played with the Exotic gear obtained by the Level 80 Boost, with some modifications to runes and sigils. To gear this build without the Level 80 Boost, use crafting or purchase items directly from the trading post.

Build Fundamentals

Holosmith has a special mechanic called Heat, which is generated passively while in Engage Photon Forge and when you use weapon skills in Engage Photon Forge. Being above the 50 Heat threshold grants you benefits to your sword and Exceed skills, which is further increased by Enhanced Capacity Storage Unit. This trait increases your maximum heat to 150, granting additional benefits to these skills while above 100 heat.

Exceed skills are the special type of utility skills available while playing Holosmith, including your toolbelt skills.

Build Specifics

You can quickly gain Heat if your Heat level falls too low by using Holographic Shockwave Holo Leap while in Engage Photon Forge.

Try to remain above 100 Heat most of the time while you are in combat and use Laser Disk, Photon Wall Launch Wall, Particle Accelerator, Blade Burst, and Grenade Barrage whenever they are available.

Make sure to leave Deactivate Photon Forge before you overheat (Holoforge Overheated). If you overheat, you can get rid of it by mounting up while out of combat.
