Spring Fashion Contest & Charity for Ukraine

Raid your wardrobe, spruce up and join us in our upcoming contest to turn your fashion endeavours into a chance to support the victims of the on-going war in Ukraine! Meet us in The Grove this Sunday, April 24th at 17:00 BST/18:00 CEST and decide the rise and fall of each contestant by voting live on Twitch!

The launch of End of Dragons has sent a tsunami of renewed hype, as we officially entered the Spring of Guild Wars 2. There is much ahead of us to look forward to! Naturally, this calls for a massive celebration. However, we would like to see this waging of “Fashion Wars” as an opportunity to think about the war currently being waged in Ukraine and perhaps turn our in-game shenanigans into meaningful actions.

We are happy to announce that we will be hosting a charity stream for the people affected by the tragic events unfolding in Ukraine. All donations will be sent to Doctors Without Borders, following the wishes the community has expressed in this Twitter poll

Categories & Rules

There will be two categories:

• New Horizons: Cantha has finally reopened its borders and our horizons have broadened again. A cycle has ended and a new one is born. Let’s celebrate the beginning of a new era with some fresh looks inspired by Canthan culture. As an alternative, you can show us your hype for GW2 by crafting an outfit that embodies the spirit of spring and renewal.
• Free-For-All: it would not be a respectable Hs fashion contest without an open season for memes, weebs and roleplayers. The community loves this evergreen, so this category is here to stay.

The rules are very straight-forward:

• Only one entry allowed: choose a category you want to represent and secure a spot for yourself in the according line.
• No outfits allowed: CM is disabled, and by CM we mean “Cheese Mode”.

Challenge yourself by finding creative ways you can steal the show, and the audience’s hearts: tonics, miniatures, mounts and infusions are allowed to embellish your entrance. Feel free to add some roleplaying as well!

Event overview

Where and when

First in line will be EU, then we will move on to our NA friends as soon as the EU winners are picked. The duration of the event might vary depending on the number of participants, although we are expecting about 2-3 hours for each server.

How to enter

To participate, tune in to the stream on Twitch and show up at the specified location. If you are in our Discord server, you will receive reminder alerts; if not, this is a good time to join! You will also find us advertising a squad in the LFG panel (check the Roleplaying category). Just get in line, but don’t be late: the queue will be locked after a certain point and you might not be able to secure yourself a spot!

Voting

Voting will take place live, on stream: simply wait for the showrunners to announce the opening and closing of each vote, then type a number from 0 to 10 in Twitch chat to assign your score to each contestant. All individual scores will be shown on screen, so you will be able to follow the rise and fall of our brave fashionistas as the event unfolds!

Prizing

There are 2 categories, each with 3 winners. The grand total will be 12 winners across both EU and NA!
Thanks to our glorious, fashion-conscious community, we have a bountiful prize pool, which will be divided among each category as follows:

1. 1st place: 900
2. 2nd place: 600
3. 3rd place: 300
